“I found my passion for helping business owners realize their dreams.”

From a young age, I have always been drawn to the challenge of puzzles – jigsaw, crosswords, Sudoku, logic puzzles, you name it!  Then, when I was in middle school, my aunt introduced me to accounting when she had me help her with her bookkeeping business.  I found that I had a knack for it and enjoyed the puzzle-like aspect of putting things together to create the financials.  She started me on my life-long journey in accounting.

“I approach the work I do with my clients like a puzzle waiting to be solved.”

I approach the work I do with my clients like a puzzle waiting to be solved.  Sometimes clients come to me with a jumbled mess of “puzzle pieces” (aka receipts), so we get them set up on QuickBooks Online to put it all together.  When the financials are organized and up-to-date, they provide a picture of the business, just like a jigsaw.  They tell a story, sometimes good and sometimes not so good, but at least you have a clear picture to work with. When we start diving into the goals and dreams of the business owner, it creates a new puzzle to figure out the steps and actions needed to reach those goals.  Sometimes its a process of trial and error to figure out which pieces fit and which ones don’t, but we learn along the way, adjust, and keep moving forward knowing we’re in the process of creating something amazing!  I love using my puzzle solving skills to help my clients in a lot of different ways.

“Sometimes clients come to me with a jumbled mess of “puzzle pieces” (aka receipts)….”

Throughout high school and college, I worked part-time in small accounting firms.  While working there I learned about the inner workings of an accounting firm and the variety of services that businesses needed from an accountant.  And naturally, I continued to pursue accounting in college.  I graduated from UCLA  with a degree in Business Economics and a minor in Accounting.  After graduation, I took a position at Burr, Pilger and Mayer (BPM), a regional accounting firm based in San Francisco.  I worked at BPM for 9 years as an auditor and consultant to small and mid-size businesses in a variety of industries. Through my experience over the years I found my passion for helping business owners realize their dreams.

When my husband and I started our family, I left my position as a senior manager at BPM, but I couldn’t stay away from accounting.  While my children were small, I took on a few clients, working part-time during naps and in the evenings.  As they have grown my business has grown as well.  I enjoy the flexibility my business allows me to have so that I can spend time with my family while also enjoying my passion of helping businesses with their diverse accounting needs.

I have over 20 years experience working in the accounting field directly with small and mid-size businesses.  I’m a CPA licensed by the California Board of Accountancy, and a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor Program member.  I have worked with clients in a variety of industries including professional services, non-profit, and commercial real estate.  I’m based in the East Bay of Northern California – Pleasanton, CA, but serve clients remotely nationwide.

In my spare time I love spending time with my family, boating, wake boarding, reading, and doing puzzles, of course!
